These little gems are easy, delicious and you can make them in a snap

My favorite pizza is a BBQ chicken pizza, and when I was given this Apple Barbecue Sauce from Dillman Farm I immediately wanted to make pizza.

That’s the best part of BBQ pizza. You can change and use all kinds of barbecue sauce and you get a different flavor set of flavors each time. This apple barbecue sauce is great. It has so much flavor and packs just enough heat.

I made four different varieties of these little pizzas and you could probably come up with ten more. I like the classic pepperoni or cheese. You could also do a pesto sauce topped with tomatoes, mozzarella and a little balsamic drizzle for a “caprese” pizza. YUM!

Onto the pitas

If you’ve never used a pita other than from a big bag of chips, you are missing out!

You can find delicious pita bread in your local grocery store. I love the whole wheat pitas because it adds a deeper, almost nutty favor to a pizza crust and it’s healthy. You can also split them open and fill them with whatever for a sandwich or wrap. I love filling them with Caesar salad and grilled chicken…YUM!

A quick grill of the pita bread and it’s ready to be your canvas of pizza toppings!

RECIPE:

Ingredients:

BBQ STYLE PIZZA:
Pita Bread
Apple Barbecue Sauce
Chicken, cooked and cubed
Ranch Dressing
Cheddar Cheese
Parmesan Cheese

Directions:

Preheat oven 400°
Grill both sides of pita bread until you get good grill marks, only a couple minutes a side
Top with BBQ sauce, chicken, ranch dressing, and both cheeses
Cook in oven until cheese is melted, about 5-10 minutes

NOTE: You can use however much you would like of the toppings, it is really preference. I don’t like a pizza drowned in sauce but I love it heaping with cheese, it’s whatever you prefer!
